Your Facebook profile is a great way for people to get a sense of who you are as a person. Sometimes, even potential employers go through your Facebook profile while they are evaluating your profile for employment. So, it’s very important for you to ensure that your Facebook profile looks the way you want it to. It’s important for personal use as well. If you are trying to date somebody, he/she can find a lot about your personality through your Facebook profile. If you have ever wondered how to observe your profile the way someone else sees it, this post has got you covered.

Viewing Your Facebook Profile As Someone else: Steps to Follow

Facebook used to allow users to view their profile as some other user with the help of the “view as” feature. This feature was available while setting up your profile and later on as well. This feature was disabled by Facebook after it discovered that a vulnerability in this feature allowed people to view a user’s access tokens. Knowledge of a profile’s access tokens made it very easy to hack accounts. Over 50 million Facebook accounts were affected by this and Facebook got rid of the feature altogether. However, there are some ways around that. Here they are:

Use A Facebook Spy App

Viewing your own or a friend’s profile through a Facebook spy app will give you anonymity and won’t make you appear like a creepy stalker. You can check out your friends’ Facebook profiles as much as you want with the help of a Facebook spy app. It will help you stay up to date with what they are doing, without the risk of you being discovered as a stalker.

Change Your Settings To “Public”

Go to Settings ➝ Privacy. Change all of your settings under that tab to Everyone or Public (unless it’s already a public profile). Once you have done that, log out of your Facebook profile. After that, enter your name + Facebook on Google. Select the result that corresponds to your name and you will be able to see how your Facebook profile looks to others. You can also see it by opening an Incognito Window on Google Chrome and using it to access Facebook.

The Secret “View As” Setting

As we discussed earlier, Facebook had a “View As” feature earlier but it got rid of it later. However, there is a secret way to access the “View As” feature. Here’s what you have to do:

  • Go to Settings > Timeline and Tagging.
  • Scroll down to the section that says Review and the item Review what other people see on your timeline.
  • Next to this, click “View As”

Create Another Facebook Account

If nothing else works out for you, you can also create a new Facebook account and send a friend request to your original account. Once you accept the request with your original account, you can use your new account to see what your original account looks like.

Hopefully, all the steps mentioned in this post will help you view your Facebook profile as someone else.
